Yes. United has protection systems that guarantee a secure purchase and prevent access by others. This avoids access to your personal and credit card data.

How do I book my itinerary if my return is from a different city?
Select the Multi City option at the main page; then fill out the desired cities. If the trip between cities is not by air, select the travel by ground option.

How do I fill out the data on my reservation?
You are allowed to use either capital or small letters. Accents are not allowed. The address field must not exceed 37 characters. If it is longer than this number, please abbreviate.
If you know the city or airport code (LAX, SFO, WAS, etc) you can enter it in order to speed your search.

What is an e-ticket?
It is an electronic ticket that stays in our reservation system database. It has the same information as the paper ticket but it cannot be lost or stolen.

Will I get an e-ticket or a paper ticket?
If your itinerary includes just United flights you will get an e-ticket. If it includes other airline flights a paper ticket will be issued. This paper ticket will be delivered to your billing address provided there is enough time to do so. If the departure date is too close to the time of purchase, you will need to pick up your ticket at the airport. It is important for you to verify the delivery field that appears at the end of the Billing/Delivery information section. (Deliver using: e-ticket, Ticket By Mail or Pre-paid ticket).

How do I get my purchase confirmation?
You will receive it by e-mail just after you finish your purchase online. This confirmation includes passenger and flight details, seat assignment, mileage and fare information etc.

I do not have an e-mail and I cannot finish my purchase. What can I do?
You can add a relative's or a friend's e-mail. This e-mail will then receive the purchase confirmation.

What kind of special services can I receive?
Special meals, wheelchairs and seat assignments. If you need additional special services please contact our reservations department. Look for our phone number at the Contact United section.

I can not complete my purchase due to an error message:

  • Too close to departure. You need to book your flights at least 48 hours in advance. If there is less than 48 hours, please call our internet desk for assistance.
  • The frequent flyer number entered is invalid. You need to fill out your name exactly as it appears on your Mileage Plus statement.
  • Check your entries. You must fill out all the mandatory fields.
  • Credit card number problem. Verify account number, expiration date and credit card type.

What forms of payment are accepted online?
Only credit cards are accepted. There is no way to pay with debit cards or any other different form of payment.

When is my credit card charged?
Once your credit is authorized by the bank.

What happens if my credit card is refused?
United will contact you by phone or e-mail to inform you about credit denial. You will have to contact your bank and check details.

What should I do if I am not the credit card holder?
For security reasons the credit hard holder must be present at check-in time. If this is not possible, the card holder needs to show it at any United ticket office before the departure date.

How can I get a child discount?
If the desired fare has a child discount you can call reservations after completing your purchase and ask for it.

How do I book an infant?
Once you complete your purchase, call our reservations desk to add the infant's name to your reservation. Charges may apply.
