Continental is the fourth largest airline in the United States with primary hubs in Houston, Cleveland and Newark. Continental operates more than 2,700 flights each day to more than 240 destinations in North America, Central and South America, Europe and Asia.
Continental is a member of the Star Alliance®. The miles you earn on Continental can be accrued in Mileage Plus®. And the flight miles you earn qualify toward elite status. You earn one Elite Qualifying Mile (EQM) for each flight mile you earn and one Elite Qualifying Segment (EQS) for each segment you fly.
When you fly on Continental* with a paid ticket in first class (F), business class (J, C, D, Z) and unrestricted economy (Y, B), you will earn a 50% EQM/EQS bonus.
Present your Mileage Plus number when making reservations and you can earn:
The miles accrued are determined by the operating airline. Please note that the booking class shown on your ticket may differ from the booking code relevant for mileage accrual.
Ensure your Mileage Plus number is in your reservation at check-in. But if you do not receive your miles, go to the Flight Mileage Credit page to request your mileage credit. You can request miles for past flights no more than six (6) months after the flight date.

If you are a Mileage Plus elite member, you’ll earn the elite level mileage bonus (redeemable mileage credit) when you fly Continental:

- Premier Executive® and 1K® members earn a 100% redeemable mileage credit bonus.
- Elite members will earn a minimum of 500 miles on Continental flights.

Mileage Plus elite members now enjoy Unlimited Domestic Upgrades on United flights. We're happy to announce that elite members will also enjoy similar privileges when you fly on Continental. These new seating benefits will start to roll out in mid-2010.
As a Mileage Plus elite member flying on Continental, you will enjoy:
- Elite Upgrades. When you book a Continental ticket on an eligible flight, enter your Mileage Plus number and you'll automatically be added to their upgrade waitlist. No certificates needed. If an upgrade seat becomes available for you, it's yours.
- Premium Seating. At any time from booking through check-in, you can request a window or aisle seat in the front of the economy cabin.
*A Continental Flight is any on-line air travel on Continental, Continental Micronesia, Inc., or certain flights marketed as Continental Express or Continental Connection (currently, ExpressJet Airlines, Inc., Chautauqua Airlines, Inc., Colgan Air, Inc. and Champlain Enterprises, Inc., d/b/a CommutAir) regularly scheduled service.
